April Hampton-Brown
From an early age, April Hampton discovered her calling to care for others. At just fifteen, she balanced two summer jobs—one at McDonald’s, where she was quickly promoted to junior supervisor, and another with her school’s Random Acts of Kindness program, where she first stepped into a leadership role. By eighteen, she was working in an assisted living facility and later supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, laying the foundation for her lifelong career in healthcare.
April began her clinical journey by completing the Certified Nursing Assistant program, followed by earning her Diploma in Nursing. She worked for several years as a Licensed Practical Nurse, focusing on long-term care and rehabilitation. Determined to grow further, she returned to school and completed her Associate of Science in Nursing at Gardner-Webb University, later advancing to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Carolina University. Today, she is dually licensed as a South Carolina Nursing Home Administrator and Community Residential Care Facility Administrator and a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant.
Rising through the ranks of the long-term care industry, April has held roles from Director of Nursing to Senior Clinical and Operations Director before becoming the Founder and CEO of Abundant Alternatives, LLC, a healthcare consulting, home care agency, nursing pool, and CPR training site. Her expertise lies in quality assurance, performance improvement, compliance, and clinical leadership. She has participated in statewide initiatives such as South Carolina’s Improving Dementia Care and Eliminating Off-Label Antipsychotics project, reflecting her commitment to advancing best practices in patient care.
Beyond her professional work, April is a licensed Minister of the Gospel, where she is a member of Harvest House Baptist Church. She serves as Board Chair for one nonprofit organization and as a board member for another, in addition to organizing food drives and neighborhood initiatives. A proud wife, mother, and grandmother, April values family deeply and lives by her faith, striving for excellence in Jesus name in every role she undertakes.
One of April's most recent achievements is completing her Master's of Arts in Christian Leadership at Shaw University.
“I have a heart for the people and I truly believe nursing is my God-gifted ministry.”
