Abundant Alternatives, LLC was founded based off the need of the healthcare industry. Experiences in the healthcare industry have shown evidence that a company such as Abundant Alternatives, LLC is needed. The goal is to assist long term care facilities and healthcare agencies with quality improvement projects and educating staff as needed. We will also expand into assisting with risk management projects. Our consulting services provide a wide range of options. Abundant Alternatives HealthCare Staffing an affiliate of Abundant Alternatives, LLC, offers services to healthcare agencies and facilities to assist with staffing needs. Our goal is to offer flexible schedules to healthcare professionals that are not able to commit to a set schedule while ensuring the patients and residents needs are met. The common factor is to ensure that we are available to assist as much as we can to ensure individuals receive quality of care and healthcare professionals are aware of the evolving changes in the healthcare industry.
April Hampton-Brown
At an early age, April knew that caring for people would be her calling. At the age of fifteen she spent her summer working two jobs one at the local McDonald’s and one through the school system. The name of the program through her school system was Random Acts of Kindness. April was given the assignment of supervisor. Soon after the supervisor assignment through her school system, she was promoted to junior supervisor at McDonald’s. Although April did not realize this at the time she was operating as a leader among her peers. At the age of eighteen she started working in the dietary department of an Assisted Living Facility. She then moved on to working with those with developmental disabilities.
Shortly after working with those with developmental disabilities she completed the Certified Nursing Assistant Program. Two years passed before she decided to pursue her career in nursing. April received a Diploma in Nursing and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse several years with a focus on long-term care and short-term rehab. Furthering her education, April returned to Gardner Webb University, Hunt School of Nursing in which she completed her Associate of Science Degree in Nursing; later completing a Bachelors of Science Degree through Western Carolina University. April is dually licensed as a South Carolina Nursing Home Administrator and Community Residential Care Facility Administrator. She is a member of the National Alliance of Certified Legal Nurse Consultants.
Long term care and short-term rehab are areas that April has worked closely with throughout her career. Her work ethic revolves around the quality assurance performance improvement approach. She has experience in nurse management and leadership. She is unique in the fact that she worked her way up through the long-term care industry. She served a Director of Nursing for several years then transitioned to the role of directing clinical and operations. Projects such as South Carolina’s Initiative to Improve Dementia Care and Eliminate Off-Label Antipsychotics is one of many that April participated in.
April is a native of North Carolina is a wife, mother, and grandmother. She is a member of Harvest House Baptist Church and supports the vision of her Pastor and the ministry of spreading the gospel, feeding the hungry, and clothing the naked. She is an active board member of the Foothills Harvest Transitional Services, Inc. April feels that it is her duty to give back to the community and strive in excellence in Jesus name in all that she is assigned. She values family and loves spending time with her loved ones.
One of April's most recent achievements is completing her Master's of Arts in Christian Leadership at Shaw University.
